Argenta Private Capital Limited Appoints New Board Members

Argenta Private Capital Limited (“APCL”), the leading advisor to private investors at Lloyd’s, has appointed Kate Tongue and Kevin Jackson as board members as it looks to build upon its successful growth to date. Both appointments are effective immediately.  Nick Moore has been appointed as a non-executive director of APCL and replaces Andrew Annandale who, as previously announced, retired at the end of 2022.

Tongue will be responsible for business development, tax and corporate services on the APCL management board. She will retain her existing responsibilities as director, Argenta Tax & Corporate Services Limited.  Kate joined Argenta in 2019 and has extensive experience of the Lloyd’s market, having advised clients on their tax matters since 2008. Prior to joining Argenta, she held positions at Grant Thornton UK LLP and Mazars LLP.

Jackson has 37 years’ of London market experience, 14 of which have been spent at APCL where he is a client director. He was part of the working group that was responsible for introducing LLPs as underwriting vehicles at Lloyd’s and currently serves on the Third Party Capital Working Group. Prior to joining Argenta he held various operational roles including agency manager at CBS Private Capital Ltd and worked at Nomina plc where he established the first LLPs to participate at Lloyd’s.

Moore assumed the role of Argenta Group CEO with effect from 1st January 2023, having previously been deputy managing director of Argenta Syndicate Management Ltd (ASML) and chief actuary. Moore was appointed to the Board of ASML in July 2012.   In July 2022, he was also appointed a director of Argenta Holdings Ltd. Prior to Argenta, he held positions at Swiss Re and the Corporation of Lloyd’s.

Nigel Meyer brings more than 25 years of insurance experience to the role, having held a number of senior positions, including group chief financial officer at Canopius and group chief operating officer at Brit Insurance. He currently serves as a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee at First Central Insurance Management and AmTrust Europe. A chartered accountant by profession, his experience combines an understanding of auditing and risk with expertise in P&C, specialty insurance, and managing the operations and finances of large organisations.

John Whiter, chair of the ASML Board, said: “Rosemary’s and Nigel’s substantial and highly-relevant experience will be a major asset to the Board going forward. I look forward to working with them and for the oversight and insight they will bring.”

Nick Moore, chief executive officer of Argenta Holdings Limited, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Rosemary and Nigel to the team.
