The third and final of this year’s series of capacity auctions has now concluded. A total of £43.3m, slightly up on auction two was traded across 18 syndicates, bringing this year’s total capacity to £160m. Prices continued to push up, with the index of all capacity owned by individual members of Lloyd’s increasing to 47.8p, up 4.6% on auction two. This index, at 43.9p weighted for capacity traded in the three auctions this year is up by 28% on last year’s level indicating continued enthusiasm from members to increase their exposure to the market in attractive underwriting conditions.
