£29m traded in Auction Three

The third of this year’s series of auction was completed today. This saw £28.8m of capacity traded, across 18 syndicates. It brings the total capacity changing hands at auction this year to £153.6m. This was an increase of 11% over volume traded in 2023. Lancashire Syndicate 2010 was again the most actively traded, with Chaucer Syndicate 1176 the most expensive. The average price to acquire capacity was broadly in line with auction two, at 36.5p/£1 compared to 36.7p, although there was another fall in the index of all capacity owned by third party members, from 39.4p at auction two prices, to 37.7p.
